Degrassi is just like any other school. You got the cliques and learning. But, it is not like every other school. Their rival school was burnt down so now they all go to the same school. There was a death in the hallways when a student shot himself and another student. Students don't listen to the rules of the school. There are drugs and other things taking place on campus of the Community school. Then there is the House of Night which is a rival to Degrassi and most of the students are snobby that go there.
I am genuinely curious and this time not making fun, just asking:
What do people see in a real-life roleplay?
Don't we play games to get a bit of a break from Real Life?
I see people playing Farmville, Cafe World, and some more real-live type games on Facebook and I have the same question.
I can understand Sryth, or Alter Aeon, or even New Worlds though that one is too realistic in how you have to pump and grind to get ahead, just like real life.
Alter Aeon and Sryth, or even Kingdom of Loathing, are all games: something fantasy - nothing like having to answer to the man and meet deadlines in real life.
Someone explain the attraction, I am genuinely curious.
The people I know who play Frontierville live in the country in real life, and those who play Cafe World liv in cities. I could understand playing thss, I guess, if you're trying to play out a different experience from yours ... but in my brush with these, I'm usualy left with the feeling, like it's real life. In real life you gotta kiss ass, meet deadlines, manage your responsibilities and so on.
Maybe I'm old school, but to me a game is a way to *NOT* do real life. Take Papa Sangre, for instance. Great game, lots of fun, but if that was your life you'd be pretty seriously f***ed up.
